Well, I think I got all the shopping done, but haven't even started the Christmas letters. Mallory helped me wrap a bunch of presents yesterday, but that didn't get any of hers done. She's pretty hard to sneak around. She really has her nose everywhere, but it's really in a helpful attitude. I rented a couple movies last night, so I may have some time to myself today.
We went to Sam's just to pick up some pictures and leave some film, but also dropped in on the snack bar for lunch. The poor lady made the mistake of asking Mallory why she wasn't in school and got the whole story! She and Mallory had quite the conversation and I was really impressed with her answers. The lady seemed genuinely interested and told her that she was really lucky to be homeschooled. I also learned that this digital camera sure makes pictures from Sam's fast! I thought I'd be uploading them from home like I've been doing with the old one, but I took the SD cards with me just in case. Sure enough, insert in slot, choose pictures, print. Unbelievable. Mom left her film at the one-hour lab and just had the film developed and a CD made, then we stuck that in the machine and same thing!! Amazing. I'm not very impressed with the distance of the flash, so I'll probably still want my 35mm from time to time. But now I know what to do!
So, when we were leaving for Sam's and getting all the kids ready, Dad said he wanted Matthew so they could do wood. I was a little concerned about Matthew being in charge of a 59 year old all day, but I do know how fantastic Matthew is at unloading wood for the stove, so I said he could stay. Then Morgan wanted to stay, too, which I was really sure was a mistake, but they insisted they could handle him. I loaded up some movies and told them they could send him to the computer, too. Dad said later that after tossing a couple logs, he said his muscles were only "this big" (little pinch in the air) and couldn't do anymore. Dad got him down off the log pile and he ran over and started pitching snowballs at them. Poor guy. I know what it's like to be so exhausted.
Well, the kids are rising and we need to get some presents to the post office. I want to get some outdoor pictures of the kids this afternoon and see if I can't figure out how to post some!! We also have our last AWANA night before break, too. I just love my Cubbies!!!
Hmmm, looks like there's a lot of cleaning up left from Michael's catering job last night! My day has begun!!
