Not a total loss
So we've been dealing with the sickies for quite some time now, and I've never felt terrific through all this, but today was our only chance for a party for Mallory and her friends. We baked her cake last night and had no serious plans toward it, but this morning as everyone was getting up, we all knew we were doomed. The only one who was really on her feet was Mallory, but we knew we couldn't send Morgan to his friend's house while he was feeling this way, and Michael really needed to stay home and get well quickly!! One of Mallory's friends came through in a big way!! She offered to have the party at her house!! Yay!! But that also meant we needed to figure out the cake... fast!! Mallory said we could do a "Sweet 16" and I said, "How about a Freaky 14?" She thought that sounded cute and went to pack while I started on it. I did a Cruella DeVil with the hair going all over and wrote, "Happy Freaky Fourteenth Mallory" on it. She thought it was somewhat cute, and Daddy thought it was great... but I was less than impressed. Just one of those things that looked better in my head.
So I put together the casserole that I was going to send... the “Upside-Down Pizza” that Reva taught me... and ran through the shower. When I got out, I didn't like it any better (yes, sometimes it changes things!), so I scraped off the top and gave her some 5 second flowers. Yes, she deserves better, but we had to move!!
Sure hope she had a good time. I sure missed having the girls here.
